Short bio
Gianluca Camillini is an Italian designer, editor, educator and scholar in the field of visual communication.
After his MA and BA degree at ISIA Urbino (grade cum laude), he worked several years for international agencies and clients (e.g. Armando Testa, Heads, La Biennale, FCA). Since 2013 he works as researcher/adjunct professor in graphic design at the design faculty – unibz. Concurrently, he obtained a PhD in typography and design at the University of Reading in the UK.
From 2018 to 2023 he was the co-editor of Progetto grafico, international graphic design journal.
He holds the National Scientific qualification as associate professor in Design within the Italian higher education system.
Camillini combines teaching with practice, encompassing both cultural criticism and design research.
