Wie man eine Abschlussarbeit schreibt

The course deals with the use of writing techniques for the drafting of academic texts, with a focus on the thesis, with the intention of offering guidelines for presenting a research project through the use of textual conventions and appropriate style and register. During the course, with a practical and workshop approach, various textual forms are analysed and good practices for writing the thesis and discussing the salient aspects of research in the scientific field are deduced.

Unterrichtsform
Dialogic frontal lecture phases alternated with practical exercises (individual and group) of textual analysis and elaboration.

Bildungsziele
Students will learn how to develop a research plan, how to structure information into sections and chapters, how to deal with writing specific sections (references in scientific literature). Knowledge and understanding: a. how to design a research question and a corresponding research plan; b. of the text structures of the Italian language, with particular reference to the scientific domain. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: a. expressed through the development of a research plan, formulating a suitable research question; b. expressed through the application of textual structures to the understanding, evaluation and writing of written texts, with particular reference to academic writing. Autonomy of judgement expressed through: a. ability to reflect, discuss, deepen and revise when writing an academic text (thesis); b. ability to develop an appropriate research project; c. ability to structure a thesis appropriately. Communication skills expressed through: a. ability to communicate effectively and appropriately in academic contexts in both oral and written expression; b. ability to summarise the concepts and opinions of others; c. ability to communicate and support own ideas, opinions, research and conclusions in an appropriate manner. Learning ability expressed through: a. ability to critically and consciously approach scientific texts as a source for writing one's thesis; b. ability to acquire the skills necessary to produce a thesis.

Art der Prüfung
Formative: portfolio of written activities in itinere Summative: oral examination of both content and reflection on the central themes of the course, as well as productivity in itinere.

Bewertungskriterien
Written activities are considered and assessed according to: relevance, logical structure, clarity of argument, lexical appropriateness and completeness.

Pflichtliteratur

Materials selected by the lecturer and made available during the course. Consultation of the manuals in the "recommended bibliography" section is particularly recommended.
