Short bio
I received a PhD from the University of Liverpool in 2005 (UK CPHC/BCS award), was PI in the FET Open Project COINVENT 'Concept Invention Theory', Program Chair of the 8th Int. Conf. on Formal Ontology in Information Systems (FOIS 2014), and General Chair of JOWO 2017, FOIS 2018, and EKAW 2020. I serve on the Editorial Board of the Journal Applied Ontology and am Associate Editor of CEUR (IAOA Series).
I am an elected member of the Executive Council of the International Association for Ontology and its Applications (IAOA), for which I currently serve as Vice-President.
I am the chief organiser and scientific chair of the 2020 Bolzano Summer of Knowledge.
