The collaboration aims to develop algorithms for identifying specific sporting events based on the data collected by the sensors. Supervised and unsupervised machine learning and artificial intelligence methods shall be tested, developed, and compared to assign accelerometer sensor data generated by indoor climbers to a specific route.
The SALSA project has collected and is collecting data from accelerometers attached to climbing equipment and 3D cameras that measure the distance of the climber to the ground. The collaborator will review existing algorithms to see if they are suitable to identify a route based on the data and review new methods from machine learning and artificial intelligence to see if they are applicable to the same problem.
