Broccardo :
Introduction to impact finance - This short course will enable the students to understand the basic principles of impact finance, the main financial instruments and techniques, the goals and purpose of different stakeholders, the main challenges and limits, and recent (theoretical and empirical) literature strands.

Candio :
Introduction to health economic evaluation - This short course will enable the students to understand the basic principles of health economics and its relevance for informing health management decision-making. No previous knowledge of economics is required.

Coller :
Introduction to Simulations in Management Research - This short course will enable the students to understand the basic principles of simulations and how this method has been used in management research.

Obiettivi formativi
Broccardo : This short course will enable the students to understand the basic principles of impact finance, the main financial instruments and techniques, the goals and purpose of different stakeholders, the main challenges and limits, and recent (theoretical and empirical) literature strands. Candio : Gain foundational knowledge of key concepts relating to the discipline of health economics Coller : This short course will enable the students to understand the basic principles of simulations and how this method has been used in management research. During the class, they are required to apply the basic principles of simulation to solve a simple problem.

Modalità d'esame
Broccardo : Evaluation of a brief research proposal (max 3 pages) Candio : An in-class formative assignment in the form of a short quiz Coller : Each student will be assigned a paper. They will provide critical commentary on the paper and produce a brief report on how the paper applies the simulation methodology to investigate a specific research question.

Criteri di valutazione
Broccardo : pass or not pass Candio : 75% of the quiz have to b right Coller : Pass or no pass. The critical commentary will be evaluated with the following evaluation criteria: ¿ Correctness and reliability of the statements ¿ Structure and clarity of the statements ¿ Logic and coherence of the statements ¿ Integration and interconnectedness of the learned content
